Today’s word can be also an alternate for prune. Or, used together, like in the scripture below.

I’d like to share with you what Yahweh’s Holy Word, the Bible, says about pruning.

In John 15:1-2 it says:

The Vine and the Branches
1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

It’s common practice in gardening to prune plants to keep them healthy. When a plant is not taken care of it can grow wild and not be productive. It can also die.

In Yahweh’s Word, Jesus is the true vine, and Yahweh is the gardener. He sees to its productivity. If it is not productive He cuts it off, while the branches that are productive are pruned so it will be more fruitful.

There are times in our lives where we are not fruitful, or less fruitful. In those instances, if we’re not tended to, or we don’t tend to our spiritual health, we get cut off.

In Galatians 5:22-23 we’re told this:

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

With the Holy Spirit living in us and we’re obedient to Yahweh we’ll produce this kind of fruit.

Are you producing the fruit of the Spirit? What does this look like in your life?

I struggle at times. However, I’m a lovebug. I love everyone. Yes, even my enemy. It can be hard at times. However, with the Holy Spirit and Yahweh, all things are possible.

Comment your thoughts. Let’s chat about this. I’d like to know.
