Here we are at Five Minute Friday. Click the image to check out other’s posts and also Kate’s post.
As indicated in the post title, today’s word:
Surrender – write for 5 minutes. Just type. Don’t worry about typos, etc. We’re simply meant to type for 5 five minutes to get better at writing and conveying our message and/or story. What’s your story or message? Join in. It’s quite therapeutic, actually.
Here we go!
What does surrender look like to you? By definition, surrender is defined as, submitting to authority.
What authority do you submit to? Or do you? Are you the authority ones have to submit to, why?
Yahweh’s word talks about surrendering, to Him. After all, He is the ultimate authority. HE is in control. Everything in life is His divine plan. Nothing happens unless it is ordained by Him; according to His Word, the Holy Bible. Here are some examples from The Word:
Surrender your heart to God, turn to him in prayer, and give up your sins—even those you do in secret. Then you won’t be ashamed; you will be confident and fearless.
All of you must yield to the government rulers. No one rules unless God has given him the power to rule, and no one rules now without that power from God. So those who are against the government are really against what God has commanded. And they will bring punishment on themselves. Those who do right do not have to fear the rulers; only those who do wrong fear them. Do you want to be unafraid of the rulers? Then do what is right, and they will praise you.
It’s pretty clear that rebelling against authority is equal to rebelling against Yahweh.
I’m not particularly interested in the punishment involved in that. It’s not worth the end result.
What’s your thoughts on surrender? We can look at it from all kinds of directions. Ultimately, we need to evaluate what/who we’re surrendering to.
